6 ways to keep your hair thick and healthy

Giving your hair that natural shine simply means paying a little extra care to its needs. The secret to having ‘thicker’ hair is actually having ‘healthy’ hair at first. The usual wash or changing your shampoo may just not be sufficient to get the same healthy hair like those models from the TV adverts. It is hard to take our eyes off their bouncy luscious hair but if those products on the shelf are not fulfilling your dream set of hair it is time to give your hair a little bit of extra love it deserves.

Here are a few tips to help you turn those brittle dry locks to thick and healthy hair:

  1. Watch what you eat

The condition of your hair is a reflection of your health on the inside, healthier you are within the better your hair looks. Each strand of hair requires a regular supply of essential nutrients hence including vitamins, iron, and proteins are must for healthy hair growth. We often get told by our parents that ‘cold water will make us fall sick’ and hence most learn to shower with steaming hot water instead. Using hot water has a similar effect to using any of the heat hair styling products. Cold water on the other hand, helps reduce frizz and locks in moisture too. However, the best way to washing your hair is using a combination of both, shampoo with lukewarm water first and later wash off the conditioner with some cold water.

Great looking hair is nearly impossible when you are constantly damaging it, one should refrain as much as possible from flat iron and hair dryers as this can damage your hair and eventually make it harder to style. Some stylists suggest while curling your hair start from the top and then work the way down this helps reduce split ends.
