We generally consider typical signs and symptoms of an eczematous patch presented by the patients. Further, past and family history also helps the physician for the diagnosis of eczema/dermatitis.
Additionally,we have 3D imaging device for the analysis and evaluation of skin health. The powerful diagnostic machine, based on advanced optical technology developed by scientists at Dublin, allows the skin to be viewed in 2 and 3 dimensions, and enables multi-spectral analysis of the epidermis and dermis.
A quick scan by the 3D imaging device reveals the following:
Allergy tests may be required to determine the allergens or irritants that are causative factors in a particular case. Physicians may also conduct patch testing to pin-point which allergens are capable of inducing eczematous reactions, especially in cases of contact dermatitis.
A clinical study conducted in April 2003 in Obitsu Sankei Hospital, Japan, included a group of patients diagnosed with intractable atopic dermatitis, a form of eczema that does not respond to any medication. These patients were treated with homeopathic medication for an average period of two years. The study showed that 88% patients noticed a reduction in itching; 77% reported improvement in sleep due to overall improvement in intractable atopic dermatitis; and 75% showed an increase in overall satisfaction. Also, about 63.5% patients had an increased sense of work fulfilment, whereas 71.5% patients had shown improved satisfaction in human relations.
Doctors were amazed by the results of this study, because the patients had not responded to any treatment previously. Homeopathy provided effective results in approximately 75 to 80% of the included patients. This research was an eye-opener to the doctors at the institute and for the entire world on the effects of homeopathy.
In addition, the study clearly demonstrated an improvement in the primary complaint of atopic dermatitis as well as overall well-being. Patients also experienced greater satisfaction from the treatment, which implied that homeopathic treatment is largely holistic in nature.
Homeopathic treatment also helps to avoid side effects (as seen with steroids) such as thinning of the skin, atrophy of the skin, and secondary, fungal and bacterial infections of the skin.
One must keep in mind that the treatment duration may vary from patient to patient, depending on several factors, namely, the duration of the eczema, its extent and severity, and the previous history of treatment. However, the treatment has multiple benefits to offer to every patient of eczema and, hence, it is strongly suggested for all cases.
At Dr Batra's™, we have successfully treated thousands of cases of eczema over the last 35 years. Our homeopathic treatment mainly helps patients as it corrects the deviated immune process, which is the root cause of eczema or skin allergy as compared to other conventional medication (like steroidal ointments used for treating eczema). The medication works to restore this deviated immunity to give rise to a series of repeated and increasingly prolonged remissions in the symptoms, which eventually proceeds to a good control over the disease.
The conventional treatment of eczema includes the use of topical immune suppressants, calcineurin inhibitors, photo therapy or oral immune-suppressants. However, these products might cause side effects like chemical dermatitis, thinning and/or discolouration of the skin, burns, increased risk of cancer and liver toxicity.
Homeopathy treatment at Dr Batra's™ treats eczema without any side effects and toxicity. It improves dermatitis and internal healing through oral medicines.
