Empowering patients through Mobile Technology

We have seen airline or movie tickets being booked using a mobile phone. Now it’s time for healthcare to be accessed through your phone. Dr. Batra's, a Homeopathy chain, has announced the launch of the industry’s first “Health in Your Hands” WAP-enabled services. Named m-Health, this service will allow the organization to treat patients through their mobile phones.

Since mobile users constitute 40% of India’s population, the organization will leverage this high mobile penetration to providing timely and highly accessible homeopathic healthcare solutions to benefit patients across the country.

m-Health is a recent addition to Dr. Batra’s credentials that will reach out to one of the world’s largest and fastest growing communities of mobile users, effectively using this medium to provide prompt healthcare access to over 40 crore mobile users.

Dr. Mukesh Batra, Founder & CMD, Dr. Batra’s, said, “People believe that Homeopathy does not keep pace with technology. However, through this launch, we want to bring about a revolution. We are empowering patients to take control of their own health.”

The service would include multiple facilities at the same time such as registration, case history in brief, online chat with doctors for medical queries, appointment requests and for commencing or renewing treatment plans. The patients can use online service from 9 am to 9 pm and can also SMS 56767 or call on the toll free number, 1800-290-6767, for an offline consultation. Patients can also get their medicines home delivered by ordering medicines online for Rs. 95 for one week’s prescription.

The services are available in English and Hindi as of now but the organization hopes to soon launch it in other regional languages as well. The company has a National service center at Mumbai and plans to open more centers soon.
