Cholecystitis (Gallstones) - Causes

Cholecystitis can be caused by any of the following:

• gallstones
• increasing age
• pregnancy
• obesity
• rapid weight loss
• liver diseases
• infections
• severe illness or tumour (these causes are rare)
• genetics and heredity factors, which make one prone to get gallstones
